2012 BLACK & GOLD GALA BENEFITTING BC/EFA

Saturday, April 28, 2012 Los Angeles Center Studios, L.A., CA in conjunction with TV Personality, Christian Moralde’s fortieth birthday celebration, Tony Award Winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Tony Award Nominee Lanie Kazan, former Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones, actress/comedienne Lisa Ann Walter and Grammy Nominee Frenchie Davis all join the stage for a one-night performance event at L.A. Center Studios in Los Angeles, CA. With an extensive silent auction benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), this invitation only event is expected to be attended by Dot-Marie Jones (GLEE Emmy Award Nominee), Misty Upham (Spirit Award Nominee from FROZEN RIVER), Chyna (WWE & PLAYBOY), Q’orianka Kilcher (PRINCESS KAIULANI, THE NEW WORLD), Ruthie Alcaide (THE REAL WORLD HAWAII), Kat Kramer (KAT KRAMER’S FILMS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD), Cast members from THE REAL L WORD and more.

Red Carpet arrivals will be at the Beaudry Building from 7 to 8 p.m. Performances for the one-hour show will last from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Beaudry Theatre and the exclusive after-party will be held at the Flix Venue, on the studio lot, after 9 p.m.

The silent auction portion of the event (from 7-10 p.m.) comes in collaboration with Tom Viola, executive director of BC/EFA. One hundred percent of the silent auction proceeds will benefit BC/EFA. Auction items include signed memorabilia by the cast of GLEE & 30 ROCK as well as Broadway actors Joel Grey, Darren Criss, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Crawford and Patrick Wilson. Additional pieces include personally signed items from Bono, Nancy Sinatra and Kiefer Sutherland.

BC/EFA is one the nation’s leading industry-based nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $195 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States. BC/EFA is the major supporter of seven programs at The Actors Fund, including the HIV/AIDS initiative, The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Actors Fund Work Program, The Dancers’ Resource, The Stage Managers’ Project and three supportive housing residences.
